May – positivity Reiki Rach
Ask yourself are you a glass half full or a glass half empty kind of a person? I know it’s a bit of a cliché question but it will help you to understand your mindset.
If you answered half full it’s highly likely you are an optimistic person and most likely have a positive outlook on life. We all strive to be happy even if you are a pessimist you still want to live a happy and fulfilling life.
As you know my blogs this year are related to energy and in this blog we will look at how positive thinking and having an optimistic outlook can benefit your life.
I think it’s fairly obvious that being a positive person will have a positive impact on our mental health. Research has shown that having an optimistic outlook can help to not only reduce stress levels but when experiencing stress it improves your ability to cope.
As we all know stress can have a negative impact on our life and the toll it can take on our physical can be alarming. Stress has been linked to many health conditions including
Depression
Heart disease
Muscle tension
Obesity to name just a few.
“So how can positive thinking help me” I hear you ask. Well scientists are also intrigued by this very question and have found that through the power of positive thinking you can greatly improve not only your mental health but also your physical health. Here are just a few ways in which positive thinking can impact our physical health:
1. Better cardiovascular health
2. Improved immune system
3. Increased lifespan
All this being said, we now need to learn how to bring positive energy into our life. In my February blog I explained how everything is energy, therefore it will radiate either a positive vibration or negative vibration. To draw positive energy towards us we need to build positive actions into our daily routine.
You have probably heard it said before that “like attracts like” well it’s true (to an extent, there will be more about this in June’s blog). So if you are looking to create a more positive life ask yourself are you putting in the positive actions to reap the positive reactions?
It’s all good and well saying you are “vibing high” or #positivityonly but are you actually living what you are preaching? In order to be a truly positive person and to be filled with love and light you should be living it not just saying it.
Living this way is HARD! Let’s face it we are all human and we are going to have slip ups every once in a while (but that’s ok!!). But if let’s say 8 or even 7 times out of 10 you are walking the good road you will be on the straight and narrow so to speak.
What do positive actions look like? Well it could be as simple as helping someone if they have dropped something, picking up a bit of litter or even picking up after your dog when you are on a walk. All of these little good deeds or positive actions create positive reactions.
It’s not only the big things that count. In fact it’s usually the little things that make the biggest impact.
Maybe give this little exercise a try if you aren’t sure where to start, each day try and do 1 small act of positivity for a stranger, a friend and for yourself and just see what happens. It’s astonishing how quickly your life can change.
My hope for you this May is that you take action and see the positivity that come your way.
Peace, Love & Harmony
