Why Do We

Why Do we

Why do we.

Why do we, do what we do?  As always before our “Healing Days”, we pad the streets putting up posters and flyers.  We pretty much know where we can put one up and where we cannot.  Regardless, if they do or do not, we always explain what we do on our healing days to all just in case they know someone in need.

We are always very grateful to those who allow us to put a poster up and to be honest, I find it difficult.  Not because its hard but I feel cheeky even though what we are trying to do is for a good cause.  This being said, many see me and simply say,” give it here” and put it up for us.

However, on my last poster run, I was asked,

Why do you do it?

As a spiritual healer I see things very differently to most, much to the annoyance of my family lol.  Where spiritual gifts are concerned, they are given for the benefit of our fellow man and woman.  They are given to help others and not for ourselves.  Speaking for myself, healing is natural and part of my being, so being asked why, seems very unnatural.

Now the question above, that I have answered a thousand times, my mind became blank.  I simply said, “because we can”.  There is no better feeling than when someone who has been suffering, smiles and leaves our healing days in a better place than when they walked in. I know if you ask any of team, they will echo this.

There are so many people suffering or in pain in one shape or form, so many that can’t afford help, put others before themselves, feel forgotten, lonely or lost.  Those that have everything in the physical but are still unhappy.  This is why we run our healing days.  Whatever is going on, there is always help that can be given.

If someone is going through dark times, share the light, we all carry the light within.

Even in the darkest times there will always be a light to help you find your way.

I was taught that healing must never be out of reach of anyone, this we all truly believe and know is the right path. This is why we self-fund and do not charge but accept a donation if offered. If we did spiritual healing for money, the healing would not work as it does.  Help is given regardless of what a person has in their pocket.

Any donations that we do receive go towards the hire of the room. Even if someone feels they cannot be helped we can give them a cuppa, piece of home made cake or a biscuit at a minimum. This is where any donations go. The team give their time freely and, on many occasions, have continued that help for those that need it, outside of our healing days.

Why do we.

Regardless of whether we are given a donation or not, the healing days will still run, we fund ourselves, even if we had to do it in a field or car park. Never ever let money stop anyone from coming or getting help.

This being said there is a cost.  The cost is not to us but for those that are in so much pain, grief or loss that they struggle to get out of bed.  Getting to our healing days, seeking the help may be a high price in comparison.  Finding the will and the strength to get there when every moment hurts.

Those who do not have the bus fare.  What about those who cannot walk or breath properly, those who may be forgetting who they are.  Any who feel they are a lost cause. What is the cost to walk through our doors?

The value of our healing days is different for everyone, everyone’s experience is different.  What may mean very little to one may mean everything to another.  The real cost is to those that come, some may need help but not in the place to ask.  We say don’t ask.

Just come and have a cuppa, a piece of cake and see what happens, Lisa will know where to point you.

All of the team including the ones we have not introduced to our readers yet, feel the same.  It is our calling. What is within us all wishes to help, to ease pain and suffering.

Using an expression from yoga “The spirit in me, acknowledges the spirit in you” or

Peace be with you.  Peace the opposite to chaos.

We do it to serve.  We want nothing, we ask for nothing, we do not do it for karma. If we did something for good karma it doesn’t work. What we do want to do is a give a person hope where there may be none.  Respite when weary. Love where there is a heavy heart and light where there is darkness.

None of the team are special or any different from anyone.  The team are all a mixed bag.  All of us have our life’s ups and down, we all make mistakes and have everyday problems to navigate. We hope to see you on the 20th of July, at our next healing day.
