Paper Butterfly – Dionne Ward

Hello creative person! My name is Dionne, I would like to introduce myself and tell you how I found myself on this path of creativity.

As a child I loved to draw and colour, art was my favourite subject at school so it made sense for me to go to college to study art and design. But then came along all the things that life throws at you.. I needed any job, a home, bills, family and the hard times rolled. Being creative fell to the wayside and like many of us we often don’t have the time or energy to pursue our interests.
Just 3 years ago I had an awakening, an urge came over me to get drawing again. Why wasn’t I fulfilling my life doing what I loved? I needed to express myself, particularly during these difficult times we find ourselves in. So I dug out some old felt tip pens and scraps of paper and happily doodled away.
My creativity started to flow.
One thing lead to another and I started myself a little paper craft business making cards and paper flowers. I was then asked to do paintings for people, something that I thought I would not be able to achieve but something I had always wished to do. Commissions are now flowing!
We are all creators. Anything is possible. Art, music, dancing, acting, poetry, gardening. Whatever your interests, you don’t even have to be good at it, just do what you love or have always wanted to try. You will feel the benefits.
One of my goals is to help others to bring out their creativeness and through this enrich and enliven the mind, body and spirit.
During the coming months I would like to share with you a simple understanding of how to express ourselves through creativity, for fun and also for mindfulness and self healing.
Wishing you a beautiful day.
Dionne
Some of you will have already met me on the previous healing days and I look forward to seeing you on the next or you can follow me on Instagram.
