Pilates, rainbows and chakras
Chakras 4 Pilates:We must sometimes be direct. This is one of those times. No person or teacher has control of another’s chakras. Our chakras are completely controlled by the spirit within. Regardless of what they say or try to sell you, “it ain’t happening”. For those of us in the west no amount of posing or chanting will work. We may find that we cause ourselves much mental anguish and toil.
The teacher has changed and with that the method of instruction.
Different epochs, different times, different forms of instruction. Since the days of Lord Krishna our spirits and souls have evolved. We have had many wonderful teachers come to this planet in times of spiritual darkness to show us a better way. It is all part of one unique and beautiful plan.
After the days of Lord Krishna our souls changed. We have moved from an external instruction system to that of instruction from within. In Krishnas time we did not have balance nor the connection to the spirit within. Through form, instruction and poses he sought to teach balance to allow the spirit within to communicate to guide.
The theosophists brought Yoga to the West to help connect to God within, however the Western way the commercial way changed much of what was brought for monetary purposes over spiritual development. Please note there is a big difference between spiritual and psychic development.
As there is very limited spiritual development in the West surrounding yoga, plus the method of instruction has evolved, there is a large area for dilemmas to occur or teachings that unbalance and trouble the students.
Chakras are one of those areas.
Unless we are of the East and want to follow a path in yoga in its entirety. Leave chakras alone. Those who sell chakra balancing and many associated workshops to open chakras, the spirit within knows our intentions. If I am trying to open my chakras externally, they will not open in other words, I am trying to force a spiritual experience.
If we are paying for the pleasure, no amount of money can connect us to what lays within. We may even find ourselves feeling lightheaded, dizzy or sick to name a few. We have caused our own pain.
We need to beware of these things, it’s not really anyone’s fault but if we believe we can open a chakra for a fee, then we can attract pain and problems for ourselves and the students.
Chakras, Pilates, Centres, Light, Rainbows.
Has anyone ever wondered why Yoga was given to the East and Pilates to the West? Pilates has no spiritual instructions and therefore not attracting energies or spirits. (yes spirits- it is time that we understand our Yoga practice in a different way). There are many who have had some very strange and unpleasant experiences in yoga classes, and it gets palmed off as the teachers cannot explain. Bet not many would not have thought about spirits!
For us in the West our rainbows follow a sequence of colours, Red- Orange-Yellow-Green-Blue-Indigo-Violet. The spiritual meaning of this is Hope. Our sister Hope is an abstract noun. We have written much about these qualities in previous articles, ultimately, we cannot touch Hope but we can see her in action!
Chakras 4 Pilates
Hear are some things to think about. The colour Red bends the most, we could say it is the most flexible not the best for grounding. Whereas the RAY of Violet bends the least. As a foundation what type of foundation do we want? What are we trying to build? Spiritual development? Union must be built on solid foundations. What colour would you choose?
Although Pilates has no spiritual instructions it has one goal. To strengthen the centre, to HEAL the body. To strengthen the core or corps – from the Latin corpus-another example of understanding root words! Brings an interesting aspect to shavasana – corpse pose does it not!
To strengthen our centre
Going back to light and our rainbows for Pilates what would happen? Do we want a strong and firm centre or a flexible centre? Do we want a centre that bends or holds firm? Next time we find ourselves in a plank would we want the support and foundation of the violet Rays or the flexibility of the red Rays?
Are we beginning to see the differences yet? Yoga teaches flexibility whereas pilates teaches strength from within. Where we said that pilates has no spiritual instruction we are correct but what it does have is spiritual understandings when we begin to look.
Pilates creates stability,
Flexibility can mean instability.
This includes the Mind!
Finding unity is finding the light that is within. The light that is within is the source of all Rays. We are in a very different time from when Krishnas was here. The source of light has changed, it no longer comes from the East. If you see a rainbow in the East is the sequence different, is hope different in the East or the West?
We cannot force a chakra to open, we have to give it what it needs to open. Behaviours, attitudes, morales, values, actions, deeds, kindness, love, word. We have to make the changes. We must consider depth. We must create the correct vibrations from within.
The human mind cannot control light, just as a pose no longer has the power to change our being. We can strengthen the light within so that its values, its properties, its Rays create the changes on the physical body, mind and soul. The vibrations harmonise.
They give us HOPE.
There is one colour that doesn’t change the sequence regardless of where we approach from. That is green, the colour of the heart, the colour of healing. This being said we must air on the side of caution as ignorance is bliss until it goes wrong. The opposite to Hope is despair.
We must be careful what and who we teach, especially our children. If we are born in the West then applying Eastern philosophies, instructions and vibrations can cause upset. This goes for applying colours to chakras. New age knowledge is not always correct and always comes with missing, forgotten or purposely ignored teachings.
We cannot sell Unity, Yoga, we cannot sell God. Beware what sequences we teach, what vibrations are we trying to impose or force upon our spirits, our children, our treasures. There are always consequences to pay, a levy. That levy can be emotional instability, pain, suffering and unhappiness.
We work on our abstract nouns, leave the chakras alone!
Listen from within.
Once again, we ask our readers to ponder on the following. On a double rainbow the colours become reversed. Also, our physical eyes do not perceive all colours, is there something missing?
