Calligraphy’s a metaphor for life

Calligraphy’s a metaphor for lifeLife has its ups and downs and  the art of calligraphy  can often mirror life. The flow of the ink can run smoothly or overflow creating errors along the way. Just as in life we can hit bumps in the road that can seemingly ruin the perfect flow that we are trying to achieve.

We need to accept that the ink of life can throw up such moments for everyone not just ourselves. When this happens we need to slow down think of a possible solution to bring us back on the right track. We do not have to deal with this alone as we can also always seek help from others.

If you think back to a time when at school and we were tasked to learn to write,  we didn’t just know how to do it. We had a teacher on hand showing us how to form the letters of the alphabet. They taught us how to form the letters in our exercise book correctly then later how to join letters to from words.

Like many things we simply do not all learn at the same speed or accomplish our goals at the same time. With help of an understanding tutor we will learn and develop our skills in time.

Seeking help as an adult is no different to seeking it as a child. The fact we want to learn from our mistakes makes us a better more rounded person over all.

With the time and patience and a willingness to learn by our mistakes rather than let them control us, we will become truly more accomplished.

It is only with trial and error that we achieve the most in life, for perfection or the goal of perfection rarely happens or rather is rarely achieved overnight. It takes some longer than others to get there.  With patients we can truly achieve so much more than at times we may at first feel we can.

Depending on how much pressure we put ourselves under then we can possibly be faced with barriers leading to mistakes. The downward pressure of the pen like life needs a steady hand. Pausing can give us time to think over the problems we experience and breathing allows the flow of energy to accomplish the task in hand.

Heavy decisive moments represent thick strokes of the pen whilst lighter strokes in turn represent fragile moments needing a more softer touch.

Like life we need to learn how to ease our grip when moving from stress back to peace. This comes with learning and understanding and a willingness to seek solutions rather than simply rip up the page in anger.

Instead why not modify what we are doing rather than giving up at the first hurdle.  There is always a solution to a problem it just might take longer to unravel it but that doesn’t mean it cannot be worked out

In 1839 Edward Bulwer-Lytton  coined the phrase “the pen is mightier than the sword” meaning that physical battles cause temporary destruction but words can change how people think forever.

It is as much true that positive thoughts can also change how we think forever. We just  need to gather the right tools to harness this outlook in life.

Calligraphy  is truly a metaphor for life we just need the right tools to learn and the patients to create the desired results we wish to accomplish.
