Lights, Cameras, Action
Lights, camera, action: Whenever we finish one article, there is always so much we can say. More understandings are given with many ways to connect one article to another. We do suggest that our readers refresh their minds on the strengthening of the heart series in the Pilates section and reread Greg’s article, “The Crystal Seed”. We would also suggest taking a quick gander at the “yoga of Christmas”, we will leave links below.
Yoga does not work in the West as it does in the East. We cannot say it any clearer than that. For us in the West, trying to do a pose to open an energy centre isn’t going to work. Let’s be honest with ourselves, a yoga class in the west is not about connecting to God. We use yoga for the health benefits, these health benefits are a bi product of connecting to the God within.
This is the same with our “self-healing group”, that we run. Healing is one of the beautiful experiences of something much more profound. As we keep sharing, our souls have evolved and with this evolvement, the method of instruction. If we are born in the West looking to the Eastern philosophies will not bare the fruit that we want. Even if we are prepared to go East, live the life and follow instruction we may still not find what we want.
Yoga set the path to find instruction from within, hope and guidance came from the teacher (he was blue, or maybe violet in colour-hint hint). When this teacher left the physical world, he returned to spirit. Namaste. There is so much we can write at this point and many different articles will probably need to be written. This now leads us nicely into today’s discourse.
Lights, Camera, Action
In 2022 we introduced an article named Krishna’s flute. It is now time to expand on that lesson to help understand why poses no longer open and close chakras for us in the West. Krishna was and still is a beautiful soul. He carried the light within at a time of spiritual darkness and began reteaching how to connect to the spirit within. Only through Krishna, the external teacher did the human form and spirit begin to have unity or yoga. This is the whole purpose of our practice.

Krishna was known for playing beautiful and harmonious melodies that would captivate the listener, fill the listener with love, peace and happiness. No different to yoga in the East. Let us ask this question. As Krishna played his notes, his fingers opening and closing these tone holes, what would happen if I walked up and tried to open a tone hole that he had closed?
I would interfere with his symphony, his drama, his rhapsody, his work. I would frustrate the sequence. I would create disharmony. The flute is not very dissimilar to our own human forms. Krishna’s breath, his spirit animating the notes giving them life.
These keyholes closed, not blocked, creating the path for the vibrations to follow, closed for a reason aiding in the path of our own souls, our own karma, experience and lessons to overcome. Our lives are like the harmonies created on Krishna’s flute. The teacher is now within, controlling and guiding through the ups and downs of life. Notes controlled by the breath, by spirit.
Light
Those with spiritual vision may see these energy centres opening and closing like seasons in a beautiful garden, like stars twinkling, emanating hope, love, LIGHT, radiating beautiful vibrations in all directions touching the souls of any who see, hear or feel them.

Cameras
When is a blockage not a blockage, when it’s an aperture. We spoke of this in 2022 in our article, “more lessons from the Iris”. Many understand chakras as flowers, but it may be more useful to understand them as cameras, and what do cameras have? Apertures or should we say Irises! This in mind what is the main job of the iris. The Iris controls the amount of LIGHT let in or out! Starting to make sense yet. The light controls the pupil. The pupil does not control the light! No external teacher controls the light!
Take some time here, think about the responsibility of the Iris.

When is a diaphragm not a diaphragm? when it is a relieving chamber!
Now comparing this with our chakras, who controls the pupil? We should be thinking differently now or at least looking at things in a different way! Can another really open and close our spiritual centres, especially if they are charging £60 pounds a pop! Let us think about this.
Spirit knows our true intentions. We can’t sell God!
Yet, there is still more to consider. Have we ever been told to breath from the diaphragm? Is there another meaning, we would suggest there is. Breath as we know is spirit. A diaphragm controls light and breath, it is also an aperture, an Iris. So very simply the light within, the breath, the spirit within is controlling our energy centres. Breathe in the light! Once again there is more spiritual understandings to learn, the connection between the diaphragm, vacuums and the thoracic chamber (we will write a separate article on this).
Action
We are not saying that we should run out and join a breathing class, far from it. Our hearts, our spirits, the light within knows what we need. We suggest action, we animate our poses, that means we turn poses to good action, good deeds. Where there is hurt and anger, pain and suffering we use the light within to alleviate.
We learn to connect to the light within to soften any blows, to take the sting out of pain and allows us to breath when suffocating. The days of yoga teachers knowing exactly what poses to put us into alleviate suffering are long gone. They can be found but probably not in our classes, they would not teach the Western way.
We can however use the light within, the teacher within to help us. To illuminate the light body, to Heal the body, to give our spirits what it needs to dazzle to become iridescent. The light controls the pupil – the novice – the neophyte. We use kindness, humility, selflessness, compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, understanding, patience to name a few.
It is not always easy to do. We can improve our own behaviour, our actions, our own thoughts. We behave the same way behind closed doors as we do in public. These actions free the light, it is closer than our skin, it’s closer than our heartbeat.
Not all is as it seems. Don’t try and open something that is meant to be closed, do not close something that is meant to be open. We all have challenges to overcome, we cannot bypass these, we cannot escape our own karma. There is much that affects the growth of our energy centres, understanding cycles is crucial, just as rest and dormancy.
Open, closed, rest or repose- big differences- dormant for a reason!
Only when the time is right will our spiritual energy centres open, we all have a path, a plan. We must earn the right. We must try and find harmony, balance. Helping others, love thy neighbour, the good Samaritan, actions that will do more to help us bloom than standing in any pose. Find your own light and let it rise.

And as always in good old lifebalance fashion we will leave our readers with something to think about and that is the importance of sourdough. Why is sourdough important to understanding the chakras? Spiritual sourdough! Happy thinking. It’s what inside those counts.
Our next Day of Healing is Saturday the 12th of July at Crosby Library, 10am-1.30pm. If you wish to know more about these topics come along for chat. The team will also be offering help and healing for any that may need it. Any that may be grieving, lost, battling addiction, suicidal thoughts, in pain or suffering. Problems in mind, body and spirit then these days are here for those.

If there are any suffering in silence and do not know where to turn, then please come. Have a cuppa and a piece of homemade cake, help is always given regardless of where we find ourselves or what we do or do not have. All treatments, healing and refreshments are free of charge. We do accept donations if offered, this we use to cover the hire of the room. For more information, please see the links below.
